I have interview with intel for LTD industrial engineer, Hillsboro, OR. I have 1 year of work exp as an IE in Houston. Any suggestions/thoughtful advice? Salary expectations
what grade level is the position?
I'm not aware. I was contacted by them. But I'm thinking 4. I'm more interested in knowing how the screening process will be and what are the expectations.
4 doesn't exist. Usually 3 with a BS or 5 with MS.
Then a 5.
Ask a lot of questions about work life balance and being on call. Working in LTD can be brutal. Calls in the middle of the night. Not a lot of sleep. Interesting work. Brilliant engineers. Cutting edge technology. Fast paced. Zero tolerance for errors.
Wouldn't asking about being on the call and work-life balance be off putting in an interview? Honest concerns.
I would think that as an IE it would be less stressful than a PE role. Probably not as much 24x7. You'll redo the fab layout a thousand times but I don't think you'll be called in the middle of the night or weekend to do so.
Let us know how it goes. If you need any help/info feel free to DM me.
How did your interview go? Did you get an offer?
I think it went decent, but I still haven't heard back. As a matter of fact I just posted this question on Blind asking what I should do. I have emailed the manager who got in touch with me, but apart from her I don't have anyone else's email id and i'm just shooting in the dark with firstname.lastname@intel.com format.
BTW OP here, just changed the username.

Intel is a great place for work life balance and Hillsboro is a great city for young families. I have no idea about the IE salaries, but it should be above market.
If you are made a offer you can always counter, the original will not be rescinded.
