Internal move from DE to NY - Awful offer
TC = 68k in DE, Associate in WM of big bank. Ops/prod role and manage. Applied to Product management - Non-technical role in NYC Received offer of 80k after 1mo of job searching. Declined. Still looking, not getting external offers or interviews but interviewed for 4 internal roles and got them all across all LOBs. Declined all. What am I doing wrong? #banking #relocation

I didn't officially decline yet, just told the recruiter I need a better deal and countered at 95 and they basically laughed me out but the offer is on the table 2 more days. Worth it?
I’d say there are lots more opportunities in NYC than DE, so even though it’s shit pay maybe just go for it. It’ll be a lot easier to get another NYC role if you’re in NYC.
If you’re at the JPM office in DE and trying to go to the NY office, you should take the job even if the TC isn’t too great. It’s pretty hard to go from JPM DE office to the NY office
Update: I ended up transitioning externally to another bank in NYC for 110k product role.

You should have taken the product job for 80k. Product is hard to break into.
I guess if I could negotiate fully remote it is worth it?
