What are the exit opportunities for a tech auditor? Need to get out of audit as soon as possible. I really don’t want to get stuck here. Also I’d like to start a family soon so I’m trying to raise my TC significantly (don’t we all) Location: Dallas TC: 75k YOE: 2
I audit the investment bank technology/ markets space so program trading audits, etc
you don’t like tech audits? As far as TC, have seen people go up to 150k (HCOL) base alone in your field as a VP. Or what about transition to the tech groups themselves, as you have experience with their processes?
Most people in my department at least that are VPs have at least 7 years of experience. I can’t wait that long.
Leetcode and try to go for a dev position anywhere (100k in Dallas is easy as a dev). Tech audit really doesn't have many exit opportunities.
Thanks so much! I’m going to look into leetcode
You have 2 yoe and only make $75k. You are part of the statistic that says the average marriage and first child age will soon hit 35 for young professionals.
If this trajectory holds in ten years you will see more people who are 38-39 having their first child. You need to start fighting for higher salaries
Tell me about it. I got stuck at JPMC under an analyst program. It’s been tough trying to break away.
A few ideas for internal - Corporate tech - LOB tech - LOB tech transformation A couple ideas for external - other banks tech - tech tech Have you paid attention to all the farewell emails? Track those people down and ask how they found their way out
I’ve put so many job applications out so far. Looks like I need to get some type of certification to be taken seriously. Any suggestions?
Do not use the word 'audit' anywhere in your CV, interview
I'm also in internal technology audit and looking to get out as well. YOE: 3 TC: 82k Location: NYC
Holy crap..... 82k nyc yikes
Are you 601?
Just have to reword your experience to not really seem like audit and practice leetcode. Aim for any dev job. Even Goldman, a low paying bank, offers fresh zero experience college grads 130k tc (it's low for tech but better than 80k). So I suggest looking at any sort of company hiring devs for more pay. When I was at JP the audits were non existent as the tech standards were also non existent (no logging, no one checking into code repositories etc.).
Can you be more specific on tech auditor? Are work on SOX or ISO audit or GRC type of audit?
