Internship
hello, i was prepraring from one year to do internship at FAANG and i am in Top 50 university for MS in CS . i applied to do Internship through refferals but nobody is contacting me. Is FAANG Internships are only for Top 10 university ?? Please comment and I am hurt becuase I work hard but nobody contact even after refferals.
I got faang with normal resume from online application at a no name school. (we didn't even have a cs program when i joined) There was no logical reason for my resume to make it into the interview pile in the same way that there was no logical reason you didn't land in the interview pile. At a certain point it is pure randomness due to the sheer number of applicants.

Sorry to say this, but for MS, top 50 almost == nothing. Top 10-15 is considered “good”. But this only means your school name won’t add much to your resume. Meaning you won’t get as many interview as top 15s (it’s true). Apply to as many positions as you can and don’t just focus on FAANG. Once you have the interviews, your school doesn’t matter. If you’re good, you should have no problem getting the job. Again, apply to as many companies as you can. A non-FAANG internship is better than no internship.

They source from very specific target schools through structured on campus recruiting. If you are not attending one of those target schools, it's not impossible but highly unlikely
