I’m about to start prepping for SWE2 role interviews and here’s my game plan so far.
Job goals:
- SWE 2
- Remote only
- TC > 220k
- Offer by December 2021
Prep:
Now through September 2021
- Learn Python3 (currently only know C#) for Leetcode and complete as many mediums as possible
- Read though DDIA and Grokking system design
- Do practice interviews on Pramp
- Come up with good STAR stories for behavioral
October 2021
- Finalize resume
- Reach out to recruiters at less desirable companies and do interviews
November 2021
- Research company info and TC
- Reach out to preferred company recruiters
- Keep leetcoding
December 2021
- Final interviews
- Reread negotiating blog by the AirBnb guy
- Negotiate and accept offer
I feel like I genuinely need 6 months of casual leetcode prep to be ready. I’ve gone through 2 interview seasons and leetcode has always been my weak point. Please comment any tips or ideas to help maximize offers, or any companies that would be good landing spots. Thanks!
Edit: forgot to mention TC 180k with stock appreciation. 160k without.
