Tired of failing interviews. Multiple failures at FAANG companies under my belt. Maybe I just need to grind more. But felt its at least worth asking about these services. Doing a search, I see mixed reviews. Anyone with recent experience doing these? Anyone actually make it into a FAANG or similarly competitive company? What do they really do that I couldn’t do myself besides enforce a more structured learning approach? I’ve heard IK offers networking opportunity and potentially “alumni referrals” too. Lastly I’m a frontend/FE-leaning full stack engineer. What I’m seeing is that for frontend interviews, some FAANG (at least FB, AMZN, NFLX) seem to be doing “write this trivia function in JavaScript” questions, with minimal to no leetcode/DS&A involved. With that in mind, are these services worth it at all for someone FE focused? 10yoe tc: 140k
IK alumni here. Got offers from Microsoft, Intuit and 2 startups. Max TC: 300k with 5 yoe. (Other onsite results are pending from FAANG). I would recommend it: classes/mocks/behavioral are super helpful. It’s pretty much spreading by word of mouth (not online as much). Ask some IK alumni personally about the experience or DM me.
IK alumni here. Worked pretty well. Moved from tier-less to big G.
How many people in your batch would you say got into FAANG?
OP: happy to help you. DM me for more info. I've interviewed with FAANG and got multiple offers including G for front end roles. Happy to help you prep.
Mind DMing you for some details?

Hi SqLl50, I came across your post and so I wanted to help. Let me first begin by letting you know that I am Ryan, a founder at Interview Kickstart. I will be as unbiased as I can, but please note that subconscious biases and beliefs will come through, so please view this post within that frame. To begin with, consistently failing interviews can be extremely disheartening. It's not something that I wish on anyone. However, given stringent hiring criteria, especially at top cos, this is more the norm, rather than the exception. What is even more frustrating is that in most cases you do not get feedback and so you cannot build on your experience to get better. It is really to help folks with all these issues that we started Interview Kickstart. Now to the rest of your post. What can a course like Interview Kickstart or Outco, for that matter do that you can't by yourself? First of all many people succeed using Self-prep. It works for certain kinds of folks and takes time. Similarly, many people realize that this is a very competitive process and so use Formal courses, like ours to prepare. Both work, you need to decide what works for you. I am not well versed with Outco and so I will restrict my comments to what I know ie what we do at Interview Kickstart. At Interview Kickstart, we focus on building better engineers. We do this by first of all having a very rigorous technical curriculum. We focus on Algorithms and System Design. The Secret Sause of the Curriculum is our focus on Power Patterns. We also are of the view that like any skill, you learn best when you learn from people who have already made the cut and so at Interview Kickstart we have instructors, coaches and mock interviewers who are Hiring Managers, Hiring Committee members and Tech leads from Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc. Pls, see our website for more. Learning live and also doing Mock Interviews with Hiring Managers is particularly useful as you can get detailed feedback and can learn what you are missing and work on this over time. Finally, we also help you with your resumes, LinkedIn etc. We have seen this methodology working consistently over the last 6 years and have generated many thousands of offers. We regularly see folks who have failed interviews break into Google, Facebook, Amazon and other top companies with phenomenal increments. We continue to see offers from all these companies even in these times. Finally, I would urge you to sign up for our Enrolment workshop as well as attend Outco's to learn more. Each one of us has our own unique offering and each of us has strong expertise in different segments. By attending, you will learn a lot more, be able to effectively compare both options and, also evaluate a formal course vs self prep. On a separate note, we'd be happy to also connect you with Alumni from FAANG and other companies, should you feel the need to speak. I do hope this was useful. All the very best with your future endeavors. Ryan
