I am set to interview (initial phone) for the position of Senior Software Engineer- Machine Learnning position at LinkedIn. I have 3 weeks. What do I study? How do I prep? What kind of questions will be asked? I am a Software Engineer with 5 YOE, Masters degree and have done decent amount of ML side projects.
Not sure about initial phone screen but if you make it onsite you will need to show you truly have a deep understanding of the math behind the statistics of ML And LC of course
I’ll definitely have to brush up a lot on maths and stats. On the coding side, does one have to write pseudocode during onsite and/or full-on codes on a terminal?
You don't seem prepared for a senior swe round if you are asking such lame questions.
When I interviewed my recruiter sent me this blog from an employee. It had some good resources https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140205163949-28614372-getting-that-job-at-linkedin/
That is amazing. Thanks so much. If you don’t mind my asking, what position did you interview for? What questions were asked and how was your overall experience?
Machine Learning Engineer. I couldn’t even remember the questions let alone tell you what they were. That blog recommended a mock interview thing, which I used and did mocks with former Linkedin engineers at the time. All in all, I remember feeling like it felt like a vanilla Google interview process.
Could you please share your interview experience? Thanks.
Practice interviewing with smaller companies, move your phone screen to a later date. It's hard for people who do the actual ML work, let alone people with side projects experience.
Great point. Will try that. What topics should I focus on? ML fundamentals and Leetcode easy/medium?
Honestly for that experience and level, I'd start from medium/hard with 70/30 split. Forget easy ones my friend.
