Interview call

Jul 23, 2019 13 Comments

Why is it so so difficult to get an interview call from Uber/Lyft/Stripe/Splunk/Zillow/Twitter?
I have been consistently applying to these companies for the positions where my skills match against the job-positions, however, i have never received any single call. Could anyone point the reason??

    • It’s a student visa - they’d have to apply for and get a working visa for you, and iirc that’s the lottery. There’s only so many slots that get in, and they’re limited on how many they can sponsor. That’s the most likely reason.

Uber is actually super easy to get a call through referral. Went to one site through referral and then another without referral. Didn't get through either time though.

Yeah, probably this is the reason. Re-formatted my resume. So, let's see how many calls I would get

Your resume needs to reflect you have experience; in the requirements of the job description of the jobs you applied
