I have 2.1 yoe before my MS in CS. I saw some Amazon jobs stating that the applicant needs 2+ years of "professional" experience while some jobs of the same nature stating that they need 3+/4+ yoe. I would be interviewing in another 6-8 months and I wanted to know if I will be eligible, with a decent probability of resume screen, for at least one SDE 2 job at Amazon, knowing which takes a turn in the way I prep for interviewing. Also I wanted to know if declining an Amazon internship offer(as return offers are only SDE1) will reduce my chances for the same. TC : 0 for now #amazon #sde2
Slim chances of getting in as an SDE2 with 2 yoe in a little known firm. Fresh out of school is SDE1, even if it's MS. Curious, how good are you in system design. You cannot get in as an SDE2 without decent system design knowledge (and acing the round based on it). Good luck!
I have some distributed system design background and am improving on it. I have 6-8 months where I would like to try getting really good at system design given I hold some chance! Thank you!
It's Amazon. That's not enough. You need to ace the 14LPs as well.
I’m sure you’re a rock star! Shoot for it!

You won't get sde 2 and your foreign past experience is irrelevant.
It was considered in case of some of my seniors. That's the whole reason my hopes got up! :)
