A month back I got a reject from Intel for a position in Hillsboro. Now they have another position open in Santa Clara and they want a follow up interview for one hour again next week as they are reconsidering me as a candidate, for the exact same position. How often does this happen? What to expect?
It could be you did well but just not as good as someone else, so if they opened up a similar position they may feel you are a good fit for, especially if it's the same recruiter or manager opening the req. I would treat it exactly like you treated the first. If they didn't make you an offer then it's not a sure thing and I wouldn't expect anything to be different, if it's the same job.
Hard to say.. your lucky you even got an interview.. intel only considers <5% of all resumes.. that came from h.r.
Urm resumes only?
There is a need for good process engineers down there right now to work in various facilities groups that maintain factory operations. Chem E, EE, Mech E, Environmental, etc.
Yep, thats where I'm interviewing for. In the fab areas. Pretty exciting.
Thanks everyone! Much appreciated inputs.
A lot of times the first job post by a manager has already got a candidate ready to go. However, during the fixed process they discover someone like yourself that had they not already had a ringer for the 1st post, they would have liked to have in their group. So figure you made a good impression and they now have a real open req to fill. Good luck
Depends on the manager! If you performed good in previous 2 out of 5 interviews onsite and have good enough experience for the position, manager might consider you again! This is not normal but this is not the case which never happened before.
Objectively looking at it, atleast 2/5 went well. And this one is a "follow-up" interview. Hoping something good comes out of this one.
You could have been a "close 2nd" last time. I've gone back before to people that may not have been my top candidate but we're someone that I still wanted to hire.
