I interviewed with SurveyMonkey, Gusto, and DoorDash recently. All rejected. But I have an offer from Dropbox..Dropbox's interview was WAAY harder than those 3 combined. So how did this happen?? It honestly felt like a waste of time...I am really upset. I've gone and done these interviews with my best performance (I know this is a bit subjective), and I get the feeling that they want someone very specific... Or maybe I am not senior enough. Or maybe there aren't enough open positions. Or maybe the recruiters are screwing with me. I don't know. A lot of times I've even noticed that their bar isn't even that high...but for some reason it's difficult for me to get an offer from them. What can I do to improve? I was expecting 100% offers... 4.5 YOE
Bad culture fit?
Most of those companies you listed suck. Like who wants to join SurveyMonkey? And DoorDash is a trap. They've got nothing going on. Gusto is probably a loss tho..try again later? Edit: I changed my mind, Gusto sucks too. They have shit TC and their business does not want to expand. Dropbox is the best out of all of them. They pay the biggest TC. And they have some of the best engineers in the industry. Congrats!
Gusto was the worst. I thought I passed with flying colors. I answered the coding rounds with 3 different languages (Ruby, JS, and Python) thus showing mastery in all of them. They said they passed me over for someone who had a referral.
interesting. does flexing multiple languages like that actually work?
Better to work at a place where it is harder for you to get in than where you coast through! I understand you're frustrated, but maybe you dodged those bullets! 🙂 Congratulations!
What's the best team at Oracle for a new grad?
I would say, databases or OCI.
You should mock interview with friends and ask for honest feedback. It is possible that you are not giving off the impression that you want to give off during an interview.
Friends wouldn’t work because the tone you use would be totally different.

What's your Dropbox TC?
Interviewing is ridiculous but you gotta play that game
What level are you interviewing for?
Just read this phenomenal article around this topic I think you’ll like >> https://qz.com/1621439/5-questions-everyone-should-be-asking-about-their-companys-hiring-process/
