I’m considering a role at Adobe and want to get the community’s opinion on how the brand name looks on resume and potential future opportunities in tech. My resume is strong now with many years at amazon. I’ve declined offers from FB and MS bc the work didn’t seem exciting. My goal is WLB, work on strong products, and change to a company that is still appealing to recruiters - how is Adobe perceived in the tech industry?
In 1994
Will it be as "prestigious" as FAANG? No. Will you still get interviews? Yes. It's not a no name company lol if you like it, go for it.
I am over thinking it because I’ve gotten used to recruiters pinging me often bc of Amazon. But definitely need some rest lol and Adobe culture seems really great
Culture can be team specific so be careful but you'll probably be fine lol If I were you, I'd go for it as I care the most about what I'm working on.(given compensation is comparable) I left Amazon btw but no hard feelings, just found a better opportunity for me.
Boomer culture
Prestige is the one that will pay you the most money. That’s what’ll impressive everyone.
Current TC and competing offers decide future TC. FAANGs lowball all the time
No. You can always have a lower offer and a company won’t bat an eye. You need to be clear on your expectations, rise to them and make sure the other company knows.
It's just ok
Why do you think it’s just ok? Asking because you’re at Adobe and would love to get your take on it.
It's a well known name in the creative space. Work is ok and compensation is ok. Great wlb. It doesn't have a strong refresher program and career growth is slow.
TC or GTFO
I have wanted to work at Adobe for a long time - like since the early 1990s. FB and FAANG never really excited me because they seem to either want very inexperienced people or people who are in the top .001% of their field and I know that I am neither. If anyone wants to refer me to Adobe or even Google or other FAANG company for that matter, let's talk - I would love to be proved wrong.
I'm actively job hunting but I don't get a lot of recruiter messages on LinkedIn. Not sure if it's the brand or more of an issue with my profile being crappy haha! I'm able to get a decent amount of follow ups when I apply for jobs though so you won't be stuck at Adobe when you choose to go elsewhere

People who like Modi, are you okay with your country’s leader using words like “infiltrators” for a community?
Not as high as meta for sure. It’s a good brand but not with the same regard as google, meta or Apple
Yeah I know it’s not FAANG. But asking if the brand is still strong /appealing enough (understanding it’s not a tech giant)
Yes recruiters will notice. Arguably not even as attractive as Amazon though
