Seems that Airbnb is go to IPO sometime in mid 2019, is it still a good time to join Airbnb? CTO, CFO and some other executive left the Airbnb early this year. Any insider info for that, why they all left before IPO?
It all depends on the political scene, plenty of forces looking to reign in the tax free status their services have. Major metro areas are already pushing back. Large hotels are finding this push. And unlike Uber the blowback for ever regulation won't be as impactful
Yea, come. You can replace me as I gtfo this place
What’s so bad about it?
May I know the reason behind that? I’ve heard that those global email notice (someone at executive level left company) has some negative morale impact on all people, but besides that, I don’t think anything has been changed fundamentally.
If you negotiate a good comp package yes!
just for the record, the CTO didn’t leave. nate b transitioned to be chief strategy officer and the CTO seat has been vacant ever since.
Thanks for the correction.
But how about the unique culture at Airbnb? When I was interviewed with Airbnb, there are two round of culture fit interview that talked about Airbnb’s core values, belonging anywhere etc. frankly say, I like such culture , which make me feel that getting rich is not the only goal to join a startup like Airbnb. (I failed the interview by the way, although I didn’t receive any useful feedback, But After I talked to couple of folks who are working at Airbnb, they suspect the two round of culture fit interview is the reason) However, I also heard bunch of senior engineers left after CFO left, seem contradict from the culture I heard. Or Do I misunderstand anything?
