See: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-20/how-apple-alienated-mac-loyalists Is there any truth to articles like this? It mentions "dozens of engineers" leaving which could either be huge or meaningless...
Apple hit a wall on fashionable new product. Let's be honest, it has good products but so do others, it no longer justify the bloated premium for its functionality unless a completely new trend is set. The watch, the Apple TV, the iPad, the Mac pro, are good product but couldn't get the buyers emotional and open the wallet long enough.
Watch sales have overtaken sales of every watch in the market just 2yrs after release; smartwatch or otherwise. Apple Watch is a huge success by all accounts. WTF are you smoking?
Nice to compare to declining market Watch isn't really popular compare to a phone or pad.
I think so. The Mac has been stagnant since 2012 with the release of the retina MacBook Pro.
Nah.
I don't think so. People's memories are short, but Apple is mostly the same as before. I think the culture does change over time, it has to, especially with the massive hiring in the last 5 years that has expanded Apple. But it's still Apple.
That's an old article, i'd like an update 9 month later. Surprisingly the latest MBP are best sellers. So I guess it might be worth alienating a dying breed of customers ?
Dozens of eng leave all the time in all the big companies. These companies have 10s of thousands of eng. A dozen is nothing
