Really strong engagement in H1B/work visa threads and other topics that are more relevant to Indians working in the US. I also saw demographic polls here where respondents reported their country of origin/whether they were citizens and the US/citizen numbers were surprisingly low while Indian/H1B/non-citizen numbers were higher than expected. That is not really what I was expecting based on Silicon Valley demographics. Anecdotally, this points to Blind being disproportionately Indian. What has caused Blind to take off so much among Indians working in the US? Word of mouth? App fills a specific need in that market?
It's filled with whites, then Indians, then non-indian asians and few from other races...clearly whites love gossip based on your inferences
Yes
You kidding, even on this post you’ll see assholes cribbing about indian companies way more than Indians. Those are all whites bruh!
A lot of Indians here because of Microsoft (the most active community on Blind)
Blind mainly has big tech companies, which are all full of Indians. Americans generally go for hot startups and not so much big companies. H1bs can't do that. Plus Blind started of with Microsoft mainly, and it keeps growing that way, and we all know Microsoft is mostly Indian
Can you reference any data for these conclusions?
Look at the "who's all here" tab in the top left of the app. Microsoft has 35600+ followed by Amazon at 18300+. Microsoft has a ton of Indians, and as it was mentioned already there was a nationality poll taken here where there were more Indians than Americans
Non Indian here, but H1B anyway. I think Blind helps you understand what others are thinking in the company and industry. Specially important for someone that doesn’t have the connections that Americans and American-educated have.
I do think there are a ton of vocal Indians on here. However, they probably just have more issues going on right now so come out of the woodwork more vocally these days.
I think this is proportional to the overall number of Indians in the tech community.
