Hi, I got onsite with G at HQ last year and it was super hard (interviewers didn't give me explanation on questions and I had to spend almost 20 mins to figure out what they wanted). I also had onsite with Amazon and Apple. They both were straightforward and I scored those 2 offers. What are your experiences at G interview recently? Considering contacting recruiters again this summer. Tc 200k 2 yoe.
Had interview in SF, was super easy. HQ is full of folks who live by leetcoding.
The questions I had were leetcode medium-hard, but I had interview jitters and could not think straight. So my performance was o-kay and that isn’t good enough to get an offer from Google. Definitely would have benefitted me to prep with mock interviews like I had done last year when I got on at FB.
Please don't forget that regarding interviewers didn't give explanation it is designed this way for L5+ I don't ask leedcode hard questions, mostly easy or sometimes medium. However I pay close attention to communication
Gauging your ability to ask the right questions when presented with a poorly defined problem is part of the process. And an important skill to have.
Yes that what i did. But those interviewers didn't clear it enough. Or maybe it was my fault to fail to understand them
L6 here. Personally I found my Google interviews fair, and got progressively harder as I went from one round to the next, but it was an alright experience. The offer was great, too.
They’re difficult for sure but can be overcome with practice and persistence
Correct. But time is limited. 😫
I had the same experience last week where i felt questions were lacking clarity. Most of the interviewer’s communication was not great. Luckily i could understand the requirements in 5-10 minutes by asking few rapid questions back. I think this is how interviewers are trained at G.
I asked them a bunch but they kept saying the same thing over. Did you pass?
Yes, i got a strong L5 offer. Recruiter mentioned there is a chance for 6 if i do 1 more interview with a senior leader. Even with L6 the comp recruiter mentioned is significantly less than other tier 1. So I rejected G. Also i didn’t like the koolaid attitude of couple of folks.
