It seems like Facebook, Amazon and Uber can be put in the same bucket as they're all stressful places (Amazon is probably more noisy due to lower hiring bar and more people struggling to perform, and bigger size thus more people complaining). Then there are startups which can be good but there's a financial risk component (shares/stocks might go to the moon or to the floor), less CV points, more risks on what you'll learn since less structure etc. Also some of them seem to have bad wlb too. Then there are good wlb companies that pay a bit less like msft, bbg etc. Assuming wlb+pay at G is true (feel free to contradict this), are there other companies doing this? Comment
What about Apple?
Balanced in that there is not discernible difference between work and life
Lol
Nvidia isn't too bad, TC and WLB
I don't recommend it, but more for cultural reasons. TC is probably okay if you negotiate it
Hey @Nvidia Can you please explain a little more about the cultural reasons you mentioned? Or any other reasons that might be there I just signed an offer with them (new grad), so would love to know I can dm, if you don't want to share publicly
Google is sarkaar naukri of tech. I think being in private sector we should have a fast paced mindset of learning and switching jobs, otherwise get a govt job.
BS. Tower is trying to convince everyone to drink kool aid so that everyone works like dogs.
If you want me to work more you have to pay me more. As simple as that... I'm not the company owner.
Startups generally have worse WLB than uber/Amazon/fb. Just saying.
I really don’t understand when people say Amazon has low hiring bar. Are you trying to say asking candidates to regurgitate 2 LC med/hard in 45 mins means hiring bar is high? Leetcode oriented companies have no right to ever talk about hiring bar. Memorizing Leetcode isn’t a bar
My amazon interview was 10x harder than my Google interview
Amazon has worst hiring process. Some New grads get in just by completing OA, that too it is all out there and people cheat a lot. Other than that in general they have lower bar/process than other faang companies.
How is Splunk, out of curiosity? I see a lot of job postings in my region for them. Also have no interest in killing myself to make some corporation a little richer.
pretty chill 35-40 a week. hopefully stock can recover as well with it low may be good time to get in.
35h is chill? 😂
Netflix is GOAT
Isn't it like Amazon? It's no chill boat 🍹⛵🏝️
Depends on your team tbh. You are responsible for managing your time and work.
Salesforce get into a decent team , pays great if you perform well
How easy is it to find decent teams? Genuinely interested to know
Are you interested in infra teams or app team ? Majority of salesforce teams have good WLB
WLB at goog isn’t better than other tech companies in my experience.
Can confirm.
really? I only have 1 goog friend who works crazy hours (60+ a week). all the other ones are legit chilling. also, goog's wlb rating is one of the highest on blind. I'd imagine the average wlb at goog is definitely one of the best in the industry. why do you say otherwise?

Hello from LinkedIn.
It has a different leveling than A/G/F so it makes it a bit difficult to check numbers at levelsfyi
