Hi, I am working at a tier 3 and considering moving to reputable tier 2 company. I am non cs and wanna move to tier 2 company. I don’t think I can make into FAANG, so what other companies are better other than tier 1. Is it easier to switch to FG from Microsoft? Is it worth having Microsoft on resume ? Thanks

MS is so big! Some teams are at the top of the field... Other teams, not so much. You won't have trouble moving anywhere after MS, assuming you are any good. Careful which teams you join, though!

Why move? If you are learning, growing, making strong contributions you’re valuable. I got tons of inquiries at Microsoft, Amazon, and other places I’ve worked. IMO it matters more what you are working on than who you work for. As far as MSFT the training there is top notch and some areas are truly staffed with world class industry luminary type people. Seek a company for its opportunity and culture, not some tier scheme. Ymmv...

Or generally speaking G or F either. It depends a lot on specific questions being asked, sometimes on group and specific interviewers. I've failed 4 MS interviews through the years and succeeded at Google and Amazon (although I didn't take either of those jobs, because I honestly didn't get a great vibe from either group. I ended up staying at ms and moving to a really great team and role). As a matter of fact I can't think of a single person I know who left MS and wanted to go to one of the so-called fang companies who didn't pass their interviews. A good chunk of those people are now back at Microsoft. These people talking about tiers and ms being tier 2 or whatever crap are talking BS, which on blind, is par for the course.
Are u talking about vibe from HR? Because in Facebook u go through team selection after joining, so really U cud not have met a team before joining. It’s the thing about Facebook I like the most.
Get a Microsoft offer first before you worry if it's worth having it on your resume. Maybe Microsoft will determine you aren't worth having on its payroll.

You need to grow the fuck up and see if you are learning and growing as a professional and as a person. All this shit about tiering is pretty pointless if you just move from company to company doing the same shit over and over and 20 years later you find yourself bitter and unhappy, “but I worked at Facebook and Amazon!!! Why am I so unhappy and lonely?!?!?”

Microsoft is a solid tier 2, but definitely tier 2. Recruiter messages were nonexistent when I worked at MS compared to other places I’ve worked.
