Is NEO (chinese Ethereum) still a thing ?
Is NEO smart contract platform still a thing ? Due to the recent crypto bull run and crypto set to become mainstream with institutions and deep pockets investing in BTC and Ethereum , I m looking for some "good" crypto projects that have been dormant to invest some $. NEO seems to be a good one but due to the fact it is mainly from and compliant with China I m not quite sure how to assess that risk. Looking to invest between $10K-$20K for 3-4 years into NEO or similar good technical crypto projects. What do you guys think of NEO ? If not NEO, any recommendations ? Do you think it is better to invest in GAS instead of NEO? If anything, GAS is the fuel that is used to run the network , just like Ether ( ETH) . People confusw the two. If at all there is demand,.GAS should skyrocket?
For someone who wants to hold/invest, I think it's better to hold NEO. Always Remember that anyone who holds NEO in their wallet gets rewarded in the form of GAS. The analogy of NEO/GAS is as if NEO shares were the stocks of a company and GAS as the dividend. But the cheapside of GAS makes it more interesting "right now" due to the fact that it can be easily pumped&dumped and for that it's more interesting to people interested by the quick get rich schemes. But in the future, if NEO appreciates (remember NEO is more scarce than GAS) GAS won't be that interesting. That's my 2 cents.
Isn't the max supply for GAS 100M? And 1 NEO produces 1 GAS on like 30 years or something? And also the GAS rewarded decreases every year ?
No, it was hyped in 2017 but right now it's semi dead, no major development or hype. it may pump and dump as usually but less likely to go back to ATH. focus on this cycle hyped coins. (BTC, ETH, LTC, ADA, XLM, BCH, LINK)

Yeah BTC, ETH for sure, but I m curious to hear your thoughts for LTC, ADA and BCH.
It's still a thing and there's a new release soon. CCP FUD (or FOMO depending on your views) aside, crypto is mostly (completely) speculative for now, so whether or not it's a good investment is anyone's guess. Once alt season begins we'll find out. Full disclosure - it's one of my crypto holdings.
