i follow a woman on instagram who works at Netflix, and through her stories and posts i have the image of a perfect company which cares about its employes, providing them with everything they want. or she just shows me what she wants me to see? 🤔
All of the top employers like NGF have some horror stories... But for most people they are really awesome and have lots of nice perks and treat people well
You sure she is from eng? If you look at some Amazon women's Instagram, you will also feel - what a great company until you find out that they are non-eng folks lol
Non eng roles at Amazon suck substantially more than engineering.
Lol and it's coming from whom?

Amazing place to get laidoff
Were you?
Yes, for no reason. I was a top performer.
I can only speak for my experience and it’s been awesome. Great team, perks, pay and WLB for me. You have to understand that every team/org is different and there will be horror stories... can’t really think everything is perfect. There isn’t such unicorn, anywhere. Before joining Netflix, I talked to people that I knew from the past and worked here and gauge how they felt about working at Netflix. That helped a lot to decide to do interviews. I definitely wouldn’t go and trust someone on IG that might try to sell a unicorn or even blind where people might or might not tell the truth 🤔
Yes it is
In terms of providing them with everything they want from a material perspective, yes.
Yes!

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
The question is “is a woman on Instagram just showing you what she wants you to see”? I mean, does that even need an answer?
