I have 12 yoe, HW Engineer (Designing Server Hardware), pretty good at what I do. BS in EE from top 10, and MS in Comp Engg from Top 30.

My TC is around 145k / year. Am I being underpaid? If yes, what could I jump to possibly?

I am ok to move anywhere in the country where I get the best opportunity. I just want my met savings to go up!

At Apple, you would probably come in at ICT4. Base salary would by $150-170k, plus $150-180k in RSUs over 4 years, and signing bonus and relocation allowance.

It’s easiest to negotiate for a bigger signing bonus, but fight for higher base pay. You should be able to get to 250k with performance bonus and refreshers.

If you kick ass, you can get to ICT5 in a couple years, which has a better compensation window and a bonus for the promotion.

Good for Texas I guess. You could try in the bay area, your TC will probably be in the 270K range. And your expenses will skyrocket , no owning a house, daycare as much as college etc.
