I heard they are focusing on deversity hiring. From Feb onward will resume non-diversity Hiring.
Where’d you hear this?
So non-indian?
I can speak for my team that hiring is very active. What makes you think it is?
Uber is hiring a lot. Not sure where did you get that information.
No hiring freeze. We’re growing fast and hiring strong, everywhere. We’re going IPO and need talented people to help build the future of transportation platforms. We do have some key hubs where we are hiring even faster than others. New York, Amsterdam, Bangalore & Hyderabad are places I definitely know of that might double in size the next 1-2 years, making them really good places to join right now and have outsized impact. There are others and you can usually tell from the number of job postings per office. We’re growing everywhere. https://careersinfo.uber.com Now as with all companies, a _specific_ team might stop hiring when they filled their available headcount. And if no other teams hire for that specific location for that skill, then until new headcount is granted, there will not be an opening for a specific skill. A straightforward example was our CFO role that was open for a year, but now filled. Or head of Payments in SF, now also filled. But more generic openings, especially with software engineering, often have multiple teams looking for that skill at any given site, so hiring carries on even when one team has onboarded as many people as they planned in a given period. Good luck to anyone applying! There is still a lot of autonomy involved working at Uber, many people taking on outsized scope compared to similar roles at other companies and we have a potential financial upside with the IPO approaching.
+1
That New York office is bait. During initial screen I said I would only work in NYC and they still had me go through the entire process to only offer me a position in SF. I've heard this has happened to quite a few applicants.
Absolutely not, been a recruiter for years at Uber. Hiring is full on and increasing headcounts as we speak..
Far from it. They added 250 people to my office and two new floors. Feels like a fucking madhouse
I've been interviewing for Uber India, so probably not.
No, just interviewed with them
Hiring in my team in SF.
As good as frozen yogurt. Like the Oreo flavour
