Applied to an SFO senior level marketing job coming from Microsoft because I needed to move to the area. Phone screen, first round with HM, and invite to final round in SFO with a take home assignment sent last week. Last night, I received an automated email saying the team has decided to “move in a different direction.” No explanation beyond that. I wasn’t attached to this position, but in my world, cancelling a final round onsite, especially after asking for an assignment, is totally unprofessional and tacky. I’ll remember it. Is this how recruiters roll at Uber? Wondering if it mirrors the company’s broader treatment of their employees, or I’m just dealing with a flakey HM.
Damn cold blooded, just like how they run their business.
Recruiter reached out to me to set up an initial call. No show from recruiter. Replied to my email a few business days latter to reschedule. Again, no call. Asked to reschedule again and I declined.
That would be a hard pass for me.
“Applied to an SFO senior level marketing job” Which terminal?
Yes. Recruiter from Uber was most unprofessional recruiter I’ve dealt with.
uber HR is worst according to many different sources
Didn't know there were jobs at the airport! The airport recruiters are the worst!
Could be worse. Could be LAX.
Yes, your experience is fairly standard for Uber recruiters
The automated email is a shitty way of handling it. They should have taken the time to write out something personalized and share some positive feedback. It is ultimately good that they didn't have you come onsite if they weren't in a position to make an offer, though
My Uber recruiter reached out and setup a call with a HM. They they sent me a case study that I had to respond to, which took a weeks work but I turned it in. After that nothing. Not from the recruiter or the HM. Honestly think they were just scamming candidates to get free approaches/solutions to some of the issues they were facing. The whole fucking place is a fraud.
I also had a terrible experience.
