Is Visa sponsorship a big obstacle to get interviews?

Hi, I'm an Aussie living Down Under. Looking to move to the US to be closer to my family.

I'm trying to get some interviews but it's getting nowhere for a month by now. I was onsite at Google Sydney couple years ago and was doing pretty well (per feedback from the recruiter), but clearly not well enough for an offer (only done a handful of LCs at that time without preparing for system design)

I'm much well prepared now with close to 200 LCs and much more system designs.

Have tried Stripe, MS careers page, Google with referral from a friend so far. I received automated declining messages from Stripe and MS.

With Google, it seemed that a real recruiter did send an email to me saying that they decided not to go ahead for the role I applied for (not sure if it's worth to apply for another role on their job board, since a referral invitation can be used up to 3 different roles)

Apparently I'm qualified for E3 Visa, but I'm not a white dude though :D

Here's the Blind tax:
YOE: 13
TC: peanuts but living comfortably down under

If you qualify for a E3 visa, go for it. Doesn’t matter what your skin color is

Put your location a the US when you interview, get a US postal address. When they interview tell them you are overseas at the moment. E3 visa is easy peasy compared to a L1, H1 or O1.

  • If you just want to be interviewed, you can just pretend to be eligible to work in the US. However when an offer comes, you will be probably rejected. Only the big firms will sponsor you for H1B AND you will have to be lucky to get the through the lottery.

Thanks, I'm looking to relocate, and I can avoid H1B with E3.

Just that couldn't land an interview yet
