Hey Google folks, I am assuming YouTube is not very profitable probably that’s why Google doesn’t break it in quarterly earnings but is it profitable yet? Any insights?
Does it matter? Google can afford to keep it afloat even if it wasn’t a great profit center.
No, storing 5+ hours of YouTube video per second will never be profitable
...until you can more intelligently mine all of that content with AI and ML. There is no better record of human behavior.
I’m sure their ML can figure out scoring of the content to place them in different types of data stores and to set bandwidth cap of upload to be more cost efficient.

YouTube is not a public company, Alphabet is and it does report it's earnings. Alphabet is under no obligation to break down the revenue.
Not sure how YouTube could possibly be profitable but that's likely not a goal.
