Is YouTube profitable?

Hey Google folks, I am assuming YouTube is not very profitable probably that’s why Google doesn’t break it in quarterly earnings but is it profitable yet? Any insights?

On Github would be great. You get extra Blind Points if you can post a youtube video walking through the architecture.

Does it matter? Google can afford to keep it afloat even if it wasn’t a great profit center.

No, storing 5+ hours of YouTube video per second will never be profitable

I’m sure their ML can figure out scoring of the content to place them in different types of data stores and to set bandwidth cap of upload to be more cost efficient.

Shouldnt this information be public being this a public company

YouTube is not a public company, Alphabet is and it does report it's earnings. Alphabet is under no obligation to break down the revenue.

Not sure how YouTube could possibly be profitable but that's likely not a goal.
