Lately I have been hearing a lot of issues about H1bs for SDEs in FANGs getting rejected because of no education in Computer Sciences field. I am looking at a Technical Program Manager position at Amazon. since I don’t have prior education in CS, I am concerned that the move to the TPM role comes with similar risks. Any feedback is deeply appreciated. TC 170K YOE 12. Currently a PM at SAP
Nope
Most of TPM job description states bachelor’s or Masters in CS as basic qualification which would be a risk for H1B. I would check the job description before taking the call
Can you claim to have the equivalent of a CS degree? If not it's a risk for sure.
This “same or similar” thing is a real issue. First of all, the US government took 16 years to define what that means. And it’s still very ambiguous. Good luck!!
