Is anyone else sick of people writing one page about their job changes on Linkedin?

Lately my linkedin thread is filled with people writing 10 paragraphs about their job changes/accepts. Also, these people almost always belong to no name companies. What do they want to acheive in doing that? TC : 104 k ( 🥜)

Urm.. what’s with guys from no name companies complaining about other guys from no name companies about their job changes?

Can’t answer this poll, I don’t think it’s cringeworthy but I don’t enjoy reading about it either. I’m sorta indifferent to it.

It’s cringe because very few people truly care. The people who truly cared probably already received the update personally from said person via email, in person, phone call, or text message. It’s just a way to receive some form of dopamine rush from all the ‘likes’ received. Bonus points if it’s a post where the girl is beautiful, be prepared for 200k+ likes and comments from random people who don’t even know or are connected to them. 😂 pure comedy We’re in the age of ‘if it didn’t get posted, did it truly happen?’

The hot girl job posts are the most hilarious. Its exactly as you describe - bunch of thirsty dudes thinking that liking the girl's LinkedIn post will get em that sweet poon. "Wow thank you for sharing!" "So inspirational!" "Wow good for you! Let's chat some more about tech and stuff!"

Probably would be best to filter your connections with people you actually know and would provide benefits to you (e.g. asking for referral in the future). Don't just accept anyone to your network or else your feed will end up like that.

If your network is full only of people who benefit you, it's a bad network. You should have people who can benefit from you too, plus you don't know where they end up in the future.

What are you saying? It is super fun to read. I read the comments about well done etc. In some cases people ask for the OP's phone number and for dinner and stuff. These posts remind me the stupidity of human beings and that justifies the global warming.

Who TF reads anything on LinkedIn?

They're using LinkedIn as though it's social media and are fishing for likes.

I honestly think it's interesting to see how people hop around to different jobs. I don't hate the page long post bc I don't read them, I just see XX person now's works at XX company and think that's pretty cool. Good for them.
