I had an interview setup on the east coast before I had other offers I was serious about. I feel like going for the interview even though it's likely I won't join, just coz I get to travel for free. This does feel like a d*ck move to me though, and honestly, I can afford to travel by myself. What do you guys think? Should I just cancel the interview?
This is genius. Time to start applying for jobs in San Diego lol
What is the point of wasting your time and interviewers time and the involved money?
Free trip
No, itâs not ethical
As you mention, this is a d!ck move
No
I asked that question to some recruiters actually. The answers were mixed but in general no one said it was a bad idea. You build a connection with the company and if there is a remote chance that they can convince you than why not. Just donât blog about it ;)
> Just don't blog about it.
I think itâs totally fine. You get to experience the interview, free travel and you may actually like the company. Itâs not a dck move as these companies made billions and these small expenditures are baked into bottom line.
Yes itâs ethical if you use any offer they give you for leverage to get a higher offer from the company you want to join. This is about you, not them. Donât let anyone make you feel bad about it. Enjoy.
That's not a concern for me luckily. Have multiple offers
if you make a d*ck move in a forest of d*cks, did you really make a d*ck move?
