I’m currently lead data analyst and product manager for an IoT company in France, I would like to evaluate the possibility of moving to the US or Canada. Any help is welcomed
If you transfer with an L1 visa, you are tied to the employer H1 visa allows you to switch
But you’re also an EU national, thus you’d get a Green Card within 12-18 months :)
Thanks, should I go through the lottery to get the green card in that case?
18m to 24m more like it.
Even easier in Canada: Visa process is simpler, and they speak both English et Français
Being a French, I never had an issue in US (I came here as a student on f1 Visa)
You need a company to sponsor you. Find a french company that operates in the us and transfer.
Canada should be super easy - Quebec would allow you to immigrate and get a PR in 1.5 yrs if you are French.
Find an American who is charmed by your BS accent and marry them. You could get flight to Mexico City make your way to border, hire a Coyote and make your way north. Then it is a simple matter of waiting on a Democrat to get elected President and wah lah you are a citizen.
Apply for a Green Card lottery
Why you want to move to US? France not good anymore?
I enjoy my current situation in France. The point is that I’m still not having too much constrains to try new things (fortunately). Living in Paris is great, but you’ve got to accept the fact that you will be able to live slightly above the average at best. I hope to find something better (with sun, affordable housing, dynamic work ecosystem) :)
Best wishes. I think you will get everythong you seek.
It's easy.... Join a big company and switch teams internally and process your Visa
Thanks, I’m already in a big company that has a branch in the US. But I heard that you can’t change employer once you start working in the US. Is there a minimum number of years or another kind of limitation?
I got a green card within 2 years (coming from the EU) after a L1 visa
