Hello, I am looking at Master in DS at Uni of Sydney. Is it necessary or beneficial in anyway to break into DS?? How about General Assembly in DS?? I would love to get more insights abt this before committing financially and time wise.
So a degree in DS wont help me to become a Data Scientist?? For undergraduate i minored in Mathematics and Statistics. Does it help me at all in anyway???
There's no reason for you to need a master's in DS if you already majored in math/stats.
I minored!! Not majored. I majored in Economics which wasnt very helpful
What should I do to break into then
I majored in Econ with a minor in stats. I had to enroll in. A masters in stats to break into the industry. I think it's the most efficient way.
Hello. So are you a data scientist now?? Was there a reason u didnt go for Master in DS??
I'm still doing my masters but I landed an data science internship. I had applied to many before and there is a clear difference in employers interest

Don't waste your time with DS degrees. Do CS or do Stats.
Can you elaborate more on that???
Graduate DS degrees are generally just money grabs to fund PhD programs. I wouldn't waste my time or money applying to them. Apply to strong CS or Statistics programs instead, if you want to break into the DS field.
