I have consistently noticed Indian engineers who are working at exciting companies , tend to reject fellow Indians who interview. May be they dont wanna make it easy for some other fellow Indian or they feel that they wont be in the exclusive club anymore? Indian interviewers tend to ask the toughest questions. It feels like an ego issue on who is smarter. I have even seen Indian referrals who object hiring of their own friends or family member.
I don’t follow your line of questioning. You can’t reject people from your own racial group during interviews? Sounds like they know what it means to hire.
All I hear is that Indian consultant companies favoring Indians and hiring them for low end jobs and being racially discriminating others from joining. Where is this coming from?
I actually know someone (Indian) who works at a big company and he tried moving departments and helps this Indian lady a lot. She’s a director and consistently reaches out when she needs help but when it comes to helping him move departments she’s ghost lol she has the power too! She helped so many others move up. Brown people should not be in power honestly - I’m not racist I’m brown too lol
Internalized racism is still racism.
You cannot be racist against what you are lol I’d help another Indian if they had the matching skill set of what was needed and a good attitude
Racism against their own kind. Why? What exclusive club? I thought a large part of the tech industry is made up of Indian folks, so what is so exclusive?
For every Indian tech worker you see in the US, there are 2760 people in India waiting to move to the United States. So the ones already in the States feel like they are part of an exclusive club and they don't want to share that privilege.
Haha gotta love blind. 🍿
Yup Last month, during my Apple onsite, everything was going well till my last round was done by an indian who started working on the laptop from minute 1 itself Then left me to solve the design problem and just showed no interest in my solution right from minute 1 I’m a new grad and I was just shocked at the level of ignorance shown to me On top of that I’m indian so I’m not that surprised because this bias tends to happen between Indians
Apple is one of the worst companies to interview for. They are really stuck up and have no respect for peoples time or knowledge. I'd avoid working for them.
Could it be because of different caste systems?
No
No lol it’s not caste/religion/regional language. Are you an Indian politician?
Maybe it’s like this Indian uncle syndrome if you’re not over the top amazing they shun you lol
💯💯💯
It depends. You cannot generalize
