Dating for Marriage is Hard
Is target refresher typically written on the offer letter? Mine doesn't mention any refresher at all. Also what's the typical range for perf bonus? Mine only says first year bonus is typically 5%-10%, which is lower than I was told by my recruiter. She said typically it's 10-15%. Please advise.
No
Mine doesn't even say anything about bonus 😮
You didn't clarify with your recruiter about it? Have you been working at Apple for a while? What's the typical range for bonus?
No. Also no mention of bonus on my contract.
Did your recruiter mention the bonus range over the phone though? What's the range?
This was years ago, so my memory is dim. I was told that annual bonuses turn out to be 10--15%. It wasn't written in my contract but it has been true for me. There was no mention at all about refresher rsu grants but I've been given annual grants which, at the time of the award, were 40--60% of my annual base salary. The stock has done spectacularly well, of course, so their value when they vest has been much higher. I feel lucky, but my advice in general is to assume that if something is not in the contract, forget about it. That's been my experience before I came to Apple.

Most big companies 1) have formalized bonus and refresher plans, ie range is fixed based on level, and there is fixed budget per team, 2) typically do not commit to refreshers on paper, and it is not mentioned in the offer letter. If your level is mentioned in the offer letter you’re good to go.
No
Is it typical even at Facebook?
Yup at every company.
