The recruiter is giving me a TC calculation that includes the target bonus. I don’t think a hypothetical performance based target bonus should be part of the comp negotiation. I have competing offers that don’t include this as part of the TC calculation that are higher. How can I negotiate with the recruiter? Current TC: 300K
You can use target bonus, but count it at less than 100%. Ask for the exact breakdown of base and bonus, then multiply the bonus by 0.8 (or any number you’re comfortable with).
At FB unless you’re messing up, you get 100% of your bonus. Then there’s upside for exceeding expectations.
