Is the Alexa product worth working on?
I'm interviewing with Amazon to join an Alexa SWE team. I'll have the opportunity to pick a newly created team to join if I choose to pursue the role. Is this a good place to be?

Depending on the team, the work will be fun and interesting. Which team are you planning to join? I was in Alexa teams for 4 years.
I think one of them is billing. All the teams are going to be new according to the recruiter
What's you role? I am not familiar with a billing team. What do they bill?
I joined a ‘newly created’ Alexa team and it was a train wreck. Team lost senior people and went from 10 to 3 people. Always overburdened and solving operational issues/fire fighting. There weren’t that many interesting things to work on besides what you might consider cookie cutter data science. The first two points were mainly my experience, but the last two are more generally applicable.
That sounds pretty bad
Friend in Alexa said his team had an awful WLB and ridiculous turnover.
