It hasn't ever been a viable business model, VC $$ has been subsidizing it from day 1. Riders are going to shift behaviors again as Uber and Lyft are increasingly unable to subsidize the true cost of rides. Long term the industry is just taxis with apps and costs will trend up and limit usage.

Iโ€™m kind of over it already, too many poor experiences either with driver, car condition, or delayed timing itโ€™s easier to drive yourself or use a standard taxi .

  • Yes Covid altered my habits where ride share just seems excessive to me now. I have to justify it much like I justified a taxi pre 2015 but pre covid I would tap Uber all the time even if just going a few blocks. Once habits cha get it can be hard to undo them
