I have been with my current employer for a decade. Yes, it's not the norm. I had Visa dependencies, had other personal reasons!! I have been applying for a while, I even went for a few on-site interviews and thought I did well. Btw, I am a business systems analyst, but I don't seem to get any offer at all!! Nada! Zilch! Is Cisco having such a poor reputation? I want out, how do I do it? Btw, I have been updating my skills, so I get interviews. It's a mystery to me, any advice???
What's your grade? I don't think it's about reputation.. It's how you perform..imho
Thank you. IMHO, I reached out after doing some self analysis. I wonder how the grade at Cisco matters.
Was just curious. I feel expectations from senior engineers are higher these days..So 10+ so to say. I think you should blame reputation of Cisco only if you don't get any calls at all..That's not the case I believe
It's like a relationship, when either one gets tired they want to breakup. You can decide you want to be on giving end or receiving end.
i know a number of managers that like people with diverse experience
It depends on the company.
Thank you. I am applying to tier 1 & 2. I got the interviews at Google on-site twice, Facebook (phone), Box on-site, startups like Phishme(remote). These are either through referrals or recruiters reaching out. I prep well, the second Google interview I was one of the two finalists. I can't help but wonder if where I am today is not helping. Maybe I am wrong, but I am clueless at this point.
