Is this common at Apple?

Recently the CIO visited India office and people were scared as shit. Our India head called everyone into a meeting a day before and told: - be in office before 8:30 am and leave only after 5 pm - don't bring any non apple device or laptop bags with non apple branding (and apple does not give laptop bags to employees, should we carry our macs in our hands or buy an unbranded bag?) - clean your desks and workspaces Does this happen in all Apple offices or the management at India office are just too submissive? Never seen these things happen in tech companies, makes you feel like an Indian services company.

The notion of ‘bade sahib’ coming from the US so everyone has to be at their best behavior and all. Come to office on time, no leaving early and all. I very much doubt the CIO of Apple have time to take stock of attendance in the office. It’s the Indian manager mentality of trying to please the “gora sahib” 🙄

Yes.. India office is the worst though. Here in Sunnyvale, they won't give you even decent coffee for free..

Homeaway ppMg64 Feb 3, 2019

That sounds like Amazon. Cheap coffee is about the only thing you got there

There’s a mailing list on Amazon to get free food from leftover catering events. You can get 3-4 comped meals a week if you scavenged hard enough.

Lol. WTF?! That’s some toady lick spittle management you have over there.

Happened to me with a previous employer in the US.. Ceo was to make a visit to our location, was asked to come in early and be there at desks. However Ceo came to our wing when most were away at lunch and he found empty desks :)

Indian managers are unsullied, no-balled, dumbfcuk, spineless, lying, beta machines and lack people skills, and leadership skills.

You must have had a very shitty experience with your managers. Must be the place you work at :P

The best thing coming out from this post is discovering Amazon employees have a good scavenging mailing list. You could it better and for weeks, and optimiza your time!, just selling one share out of your vested RSUs

Gotta do the needful whether it’s Apple or not...

Apple mylord Feb 9, 2019

LOL. It's typical Indian mindset I would say. CIO doesn't give a shit about all these. Forget about getting her impressed. In US, forget CEO/CIO, no one cares about such micromanagement
