I recently recieved a job offer based in SF. It’s 20,000 less than what I was making 4 years ago on the east coast. I now have a masters degree as well. The salary range they originally gave me was 75-85 and they confirmed that was a based on midwest salaries. The final offer was 90. The work would expose me to gaining experience internationally and their main client is a big firm in the valley. I can’t help but feel they are seeing if they can get someone local at the same rate they would hire someone in the midwest. It’s also hard not to think of the salary gap between women and men. Is this a reasonable offer considering I took a break from my career to get my masters?
You'd be better off moving to Dallas for that pay. Unless of course you enjoy poverty level income in SF(because that's what 95k basically is, especially if you have a family)
Let me guess...Tata? HCL? Cognizant? Don't waste your time.
Who writes 20,000?! 20k dude
Do not move to SF on 90k. You will be poor.
