In the recent stock market correction, I had a bitter bitter realization that stock options are not the same as cold hard cash and wanted to see what is out there for base salary. I know that Amazon is capped at 160k while Netflix goes as high as 500k 🙄🙄🚀. What are the other companies that give a high base salary? Preferably something that you can spread on your bed or swim in TC: 170k YOE: 4
Roku
Spill the number broku
I got an offer for a senior role from Roku and the base is $280k
Base salary belongs to actual experts in the field. Nobody gets high base salary without being really good at what they do or having many YOE
Nor should they
This isn’t always the case for example Netflix vs citadel probably similar caliber and citadel is a bit better, but the base will be like 500k vs 200k but citadel’s bonus will easily go to 600k+ for senior devs and sometimes even 1m+
“Wait till my Airbnb stocks vest you peasants” …unless you just joined this past November 😢

I'm in this picture and I don't like it.
How does that makes a difference ? Whatever I save, I put it back in stock market. If stock market dips then it's just blood everywhere . If you are talking about individual stock performance (and diversify) then sure.
the math is obvious? it’s 500k lump sum onto the market or 500k DCA by paycheck in a bear market, dca is smarter. in a bull, like the last few years, the lump sum upside has been great
If you can predict that it's going to be bull or bear then you can make millions in stock market . Since no one can predict , it doesn't matter. Op is right if they don't want to invest into stock market but somewhere else
I have not seen base as high as Netflix anywhere else.. Partner level at Goldman can get $900K base salary but those are handful people.
Plus you work at Goldman
Not true, BoA just increases MD base from 400k to 500k
Big companies with more stable stock like FAANG should be similar. Netflix definitely have more flexibility, its annual base raise is also great. But what’s the context about Airbnb?
Depends on the level. Salesforce LMTS and above can get 280 base. LinkedIn staff gets 265+ base. But nothing beats Netflix
Can confirm base at Salesforce is decent. Equity not so much.
Newly promoted staff at linkedin here. My base is 220k.
Take a look at https://h1bdata.info rank by base salary per job role (e.g quantitative) then you will see which companies pay “good”
But this is for employees on Visa only...not everyone.
If you are in tech, you will find some data point for every years if experience.
Bloomberg. All cash
Beat me to it. Our TC is mediocre-to-okay but it's all benjamins
I'm more than happy with our 300k-400k cash
Amazon pays first two year MAD CASH
I thought they turned their lumpsum signing into monthly payments
Ya monthly cash payments. Like Netflix.
