Is uber really that bad right now?

Why so much negativity? Is it just because Uber peeps were lame in the past with too much boasting or do people really think Uber business can't sustain? Is the internal situation currently very bad? Are employees still worried about nearterm layoffs? Update: TC 200 yoe: 8

Lol, not bad at all. Media likes to boost their news sometimes.

Amazon bGuRi Sep 30, 2019

Nope. Still to fall further.

No. Not asking about the stock. We should accept the fact that we don't really know if it'll go up or down.

nah I am still bullish

Uber seems more active on Blind compared to say FB, judging by both external and internal topics. Maybe that’s part of it. That amplifies the issues a bit in here, but most issues do have legit roots, just not to the “sky is falling” level often seen mentioned

So what is ubers path to profitability? Bet big on autonomous vehicles? Genuinely curious.

Uber 一一”@ Sep 30, 2019

Uber, Uber eats, Uber for business, freight, copter, elevate, self driving cars, bikes and scooters and at least 10 other cool spin offs working up in the accelerator that I don’t know if I can talk about them.

Uber ghgngjgn Sep 30, 2019

if Lyft and Uber both raised $1 on all of their rides, both companies would be profitable today.

Lower the costs, raise the prices where possible and keep growing by investing into other product verticals? Easier said than done, but lots of motivated people working on that equation

I think we’re at a low point but I see people hustling and worrying about the business. Processes and orgs getting more efficient. We need to bring the killer instinct back, without the asshole brogrammer-ness, and I think this is happening.

I will be joining Uber next month and I am a bit worried. What shall I expect?

Everybody’s just in a shit mood because our equity is worth ⅔ of what we were sold on. And many of us will have to sell more of our stocks to cover our tax burden than we were planning.

Ding ding ding

FireEye jIci48 OP Oct 2, 2019

Tax burden? Is this because of options vs rsu?
