Use it, don’t pay for it unless looking for a job or leads

Getting an interview is so much easier when the recruiter reaches out to you and asks for your resume.

My impression is that recruiters do not help increase your compensation to make it easier for you to be hired. It is more commission for them to get multiple candidates hired with less than average pay than to get fewer candidates hired but at higher compensations

I thought that recruiters on LinkedIn keep their inboxes closed to unwanted messages? Hm sounds like something that should exist.

No brainer if you’re a SWE. Will get spammed with opportunities (good and bad)

Definitely useful. When I turn on that "interested in outside opportunities" switch, recruiters flood my inbox. Not all from places I'd like to work, but if you turn on this switch 1-2 months before you aim to interview, you'll probably get some good places. I've gotten Google, Salesforce, and Grab, to name a few.

Premium services are kinda annoying, but I upgrade when I want to reach out to recruiters myself.

However LinkedIn’s timeline can be utterly useless because it’s filled with self-titled gurus and life coaches. I tried unfollowing people but this just seems to be the culture in LinkedIn
