I couldn't understand why ppl kept saying just go interview with another company to leverage your offer. How easy can it be to just get interviews at the top tech companies in the world? I swear I thought yall were lying. Then I got hit up by Microsoft for a job function I'd never consider on my own. I thought this was a fluke! But then I walked up to Apple at a conference and boom another interview, same new function. Then Google found my profile...But didn't see how I fit they're roles in my typical area of business. But still I now have 3 companies that liked me. This week I decided to test this theory and apply to Amazon, Google again, and Netflix without referrals for the new function. Sure enough Amazon invites me to interview the next day. What is happening out West? I'm not even an engineer (but 10+ business YOE). And live cross country. I NEVER EVER thought I'd be interviewed for 4 top companies in just a month. Im super geeked!!! I may actually be able to get matching offers to leverage. I would never have tried if I hadn't seen some of the stories posted here. Thanks!
You have already failed the Google interview by not hitting the books to study the moment they showed interest. You wasted time posting here on blind! Sorry for your loss!
Lol. I've been doing the Google dance for years. They want to put me in jobs that would steal my soul. So, I keep passing on them. Not sure why I always take their bait. And what test? Leetcode. Not my career. Crack the code? I know it by heart. But thanks for the vote of confidence. Lol.
For someone saying they were recently shocked at how easy you could get interviews at top companies you seem to have a few run ins with google over the years, which is in fact a top company
Getting interviews is one thing, getting the job is another. Study properly or you'll end up in a bank
Lol. Nah. A bank? Not my thing...Im already doing well in tech. I'm now just focused on getting into a company HQ out west. But you're right...offers are what count. It's still cool to get the interviews ๐ค .... baby steps!
Don't get all geeked yet. Ours extremely difficult to land these jobs. You have to prepare your ass off...and in talking maybe s several months worth. Otherwise you'll embarrassingly get your pants pulled down and THEN have the penalty of not being able to interview with them for as year. Caveat emptor!
Lol. I better get a belt then. Oh I know it's difficult. But baby steps. Can't get offers if they don't know you exist.

Next time maybe try decaf

Lol. Unfortunately I'm that person. You should see me in interviews. In person, it's almost endearing. On Blind...obnoxious. #selfaware
Good stuff man. Good luck and bring home the bacon. I feel like these companies have strong pipes and youโre a ๐ฆ if you get an offer.
Best wishes, they all must have seen something on you. Hope you land in one.
Every company is hiring like crazy and has a super small acceptance rate so yes of course getting an interview is easy. Good luck!
Thanks! Out here in the Midwest, we don't see all this. Lol.
There isn't a company large or small not hiring in the bay. Do enough interviews and you will hit one.
You must be a consultant for BuzzFeed right now with that headline ;)
Lol. My previous career was in marketing... social media included... so I'm super extra with my posts. You should see me on Reddit. Lol
At least you show proof in the pudding of your skill! ๐

Thatโs all good! Once you go through the interviews, let us know how it all went. Until you have an offer in hand, nothing is for sure! I hope you get something good and good luck!
Thanks! Yeah I'm claiming the opportunities from the universe but not packing my bags yet lol. The Microsoft interviews continue and continue but in a good way. I'm realizing how important a good fit is when interviewing at these companies. Throwing your resume all around without thinking can get you something basic but it's not that efficient.
