Almost 5 years at Amazon and at this point I feel like it will be a big shock to the system to leave. I’m currently in a sales role and have been on 4 different teams with varying levels of management quality (amazing to awful) there does seem to be an underlying culture and ‘vibe’ to Amazon if you will. For people with similar background, what’s the main thing you notice when moving on to comparable large companies? Microsoft, Cisco, Google etc.
Lol I was thinking the same thing. He’s moving to Cisco.
Not sure their reputation in engineering, but in sales they’re just as desirable a place to work as other large tech behemoths. Still in the offer review, interview stage.
Cisco is a decaying company. Better to work for a company doing new and innovative stuff
I found other companies lack of customer focus to be palpable after Amazon. Also, amazon often affords a lot of ownership that isn’t there elsewhere.
Why is Cisco in the list?
No reason, just another large enterprise, their sales teams have a good reputation. Oracle, Facebook, Gartner, SAP etc.
