So, I interviewed for a Principal PM role at GoDaddy and they reached out today to let me know that they would like to extend an offer, but "didn't have any numbers to share" and they wanted to know what I would be looking for. After 4 rounds of interviews including a case study presentation, this blows my mind.

I have a FAANG final interview next week that I told them I want to see through before making any decisions, so how would you go about approaching this?

If I get the FB job, I estimate my TC would be around ~350k for an L5

Godaddy has very limited levels.fyi info. and I think the range for a Principal at Godaddy with be between the Senior PM of $175k and $350k for senior director. I want to maximize my TC here if possible, as I've been undercomped for far too long.

What would you do here?

If you’re tired of being underpaid, don’t go to GoDaddy, lol

I've heard their comp is low, but it seems to be markedly better than where I'm at now and they offer a strong WLB it seems which can compensate for comp.

I'm pretty firm on working remote unless the comp is best in class and I haven't found too many places that offer both.

California? Ask them to share the salary range of the position. They have to, by law.

Ugh, then you can still ask. I don’t really need to give the first number, even more when I’m not sure of the range. Some people do and it works really well for them though.
As for the actual range, I’m of no help there. Other folks will be more helpful:)

I had an offer from them and faced something similar from the recruiter where they wanted me to say I was interested before discussing numbers and then they came back to me a couple days later. Sr. PM role, about $150 base, $90k RSUs (30/30/20/20), 15% bonus.

A bit of a hard sell from recruiter on accepting

Well, I asked for 340k with 180k base and they came back to me with 175/26/28. It's a ~48% bump from my current level but somehow still feels a bit insulting given my comp is 4 years old and it's a promotion.

Not sure how I take that if I have to and not look weak for doing it.

Not a bad salary but the stock offer isn’t amazing. Up to you, if you think that TC is comfortable and want a chill gig, you’ll probably be fine with it, if you aren’t satisfied, keep looking. Wishing you the best!
