Should I take Amazon SDE return offer?

Currently an SDE intern at Amazon (non-aws), and it seems like manager is hinting towards a return offer. I also currently have an offer for Expedia (SDE). My team seems mostly ok, with the exception of the occasional 10pm CR from others on the team and the on-call. With little experience in the corporate world and with what I hear on Blind, it’s hard for me to tell what are red flags and what’s not at Amazon.

For those who have been in a similar situation, is it worth taking the riskier Amazon offer, or play it safe with Expedia? Ideally, I’d love to end up somewhere like Google, Square, or Twitter, and will likely apply in the fall when the new grad job postings open. Would going with either Amazon or Expedia particularly hurt/benefit me? Any advice?

Est Amazon tc: 156k
Expedia tc: 130k

Edit: to clarify, graduated this past May, so any offer I take, I’d be starting this fall

How did you computed 70%. They have less than 1/16 chances to get piped. Have not you taken your math classes seriously 😂

Choose Expedia OP, you don’t want the stress of this BS, but if you are going with Amazon, you should try to do well in the first 6 months so you won’t get put on focus, and then start interviewing internally to switch teams if you feel your current one is bad!

Use your youth to get good experience and chase better offers. Optimize for WLB once you’re further up the ladder (but don’t stay if you start to hate the job).

So, Amazon for 1-2 years and get promoted IMO.

Take the offer and then apply to all those companies you listed. If you get a better offer, reneg, otherwise go back

Don't join Amazon as SDE 1 and 2. Join Amazon at level 5 manager or at level 6 SDE or manager.
