Is Apple more open to hiring remote workers for roles listed in Cupertino? Or are they still requiring people to be onsite?

Nooooooo way. If we could all be vaccinated today they would want us all in the office first thing Monday. The only people I know who are permanent remote are senior engineers who have been with Apple for a very long time.

Tim Cook: it's amazing what we have been getting done all working remotely. This might be the beginning of something.

Also Tim Cook: get the hell back to the office asap or you're all fired!

Apple is probably the most non-remote friendly tech company in the Bay. Don’t listen to what recruiters tell you.

Almost no one in eng works remote, but it’s fairly common for HR / Recruiters / Support (both customer facing and internal).

  • Even without full remote do they allow WFH at all? Or is that up to the individual manager?

Occasionally you get a manager who will be ok with remote. But do not count on that at Apple. We are all dreading the email that forces us back into the office…the old timers are probably looking forward to that email.
