I an an Indian, staying in Seattle for last 10 years. Overtime, I learnt how to enjoy Seattle ( seeing couple of Europeans who enjoy Seattle weather). Seattle weather was terrible for us. We made multiple lifestyle adjustment over last 5 years to make it good

- Seattle summer is amazing. Other than that, late spring and early fall is also good. That leaves the 7 months of bad weather.
- Many of my friends bought vacation home in Lake Chalan, Olympic, Cle-elum, and other nearby places where you have more sunshine. Seattle rain is mostly within 100 Miles radius. We spend many of our weekends or even weekdays in these places.
- We also do atleast 3-4 vacations during the terrible weather time (October, Christmas vacation, mid-winter break, spring break).
- Seattle has multiple activities like state fair, Oktoberfest at Leavenworth, fall season activities - that keeps us busy till January. After that, ski and snow activities for winter time.
- Our social circle throws lot of parties (3-4 times each family in a year). All of us have houses in the range of 4000-6000 SFT area in suburbs which makes gathering of 40-50 people really great. I bought my new home 5 years back specifically to have social gathering. Parties stopped only for 6 months during Covid, but back on parties since last winter.
- I also have couple of professional circle where I meet people on drinks/dinner regularly on weekdays. We have recurring group invites at monthly or bi-weekly basis.
- I learnt how to do outdoor activities like Hikes, biking etc during rain time.

All of these costs a good amount of money. We thought of moving to California, but we will be spending similar on additional taxes and cost of living increase. There is a higher chance that the lifestyle will also degrade. The biggest change that made us enjoy Seattle is utilizing my TC on lifestyle improvement.
