Got an offer from JP Morgan Chase for a contract to hire position. Pay is between 50-57 per hour which translates to about 110-115k annually. I have about 3 years of experience. This seems lower than what I've seen in the industry. Has anyone else gone through Chase's interview process recently and gotten an offer? Can any full time employees at Chase tell me about what I should expect for a full time salary when the conversion happens?
Do you have a full time job now at cap one? Why would you leave for a contract to hire ? Your taxes might be higher also. What about benefits during that time?
No longer at C1. It's a W-2 so supposedly the pay/taxes are done the same way as full time. At least that's what the third party recruiter said. I haven't contracted before. Benefits are included as a part of what the recruiting party provides.
What do you do as a contractor?
Software engineer
I think that's low for a contract since it doesn't include benefits right?
Benefits are included by the third party recruiting company. Premiums are deducted out of my paycheck that way. It's a W-2. Does that change things?
Seems really low for SF. NYC metro is about the same for FT
What should I ask for? For contractor position and for full time position? It is in SF
Negotiate bonus structure. Seems average for role in other locations, low for San Fran area. If the job is there, I recommend negotiating.
It's a contract position to start. Is it possible to negotiate bonus as a contractor SWE? Or do you mean negotiate bonus once the conversion to FTE happens? It is in SF
You will be laid off within a year, mark my world, Chase is a horrendous company to work for, they restructure all the the time and lay their employees off every semester. The management at Chase is not great either, only slackers and ass kissers can get ahead. Good luck!!!
What’s the location for this TX? Any bonus?
San Francisco. No bonuses for contracting positions
For SF compensation is low
