Any thoughts or reviews on the Technology Analyst Program for Software Engineers for JP Morgan or other investment banks? Currently going through the interview process as a new grad and looking for any information about the program. Side note: salary seems to be substantially lower than most new grad Software Engineering gigs, is this normal for fintech roles?
BlackRock offers 100k for new grad (2 year rotational program)
i’ve heard good things about BlackRock, a few students from my university are there now. how do you like it?
I interned in SF office for a summer, great culture and engaging people - as far as tech at financial firms I think they are one of the best
No it is not normal for new grads to earn 100k+.
Pretty good program. Raises and bonuses after first and second full year. Most also get promoted to associate at end of program (following Feb) which comes with raise and bumps you to 4 wks vacation. In my market and year I started at 55k in the program, ended at 73k and 8k bonus after 2.5 years.
I work with 2 TAPs on different projects. They basically do all the PM work.
i’ve heard that team placement can be hit or miss. if i prefer to be on a more technical team is that something that would be taken into consideration?
Probably, though they tend to treat TAPs like generics to fill a need.
What are the numbers?
i’ve been seeing 70k-80k
Seems about right. My non-CS friend got about that as a PM
