Hypocrisy of Indians
I am a 3rd year analyst in the AWM analyst program (502 level) and have an offer to move internally to the Corporate Bank in Wholesale Payments to be an Associate (601 level). If I stay on my current team, my pay goes to 95k + bonus at year end and then 120k in July (move to 602 level). The new job wants to pay me my current salary of 90k for the next year. Has anyone had success negotiating salary through internal mobility? Has anyone moved at year end before bonuses come out? What happens to your bonus/year end rankings etc? #jpmorgan #awm #cib #mobility
What is 602?
All jobs have an associated “level.” Analysts tend to be 501-503. Associates 601/602. VP 603. Depending on LOB, I believe there are associated expectations around TC
Thanks
I believe any internal comp bump, even for a promotion, over 10% requires LOB CEO approval. Might be diffeent in your LOB, but that’s a rule in mine...I thought it was company wide. I also believe year-end raises had to be in by Nov 1, but that also could just be my LOB. I’ve never heard of someone having to take a salary pay cut for an internal move unless the new position had higher bonus or commission.
What LOB are you in
Short answer, no, unless you are moving from somewhere like Ohio to NYC then may have a chance at slightly higher base.
I was told that the title would remain the same for internal move, generally the salary as well. But the latter would be negociated depending on how much your new team wants you.
Hi, I am going through a similar journey as yours, Can you please let me know what happened to your year-end bonuses and hikes after the move. Also were you able to negotiate a salary hike
You will be moving to 602 directly from 502 in July?🤔
Yes, that would be the case. It is standard for the analyst/associate programs in AWM
This is NOT the standard. For this you need an exception with HR.
